Our judge for the first Otley Poetry Prize is Matthew Hedley Stoppard – scroll down to find his advice about entering the competition. He will read all the poems. All email entries that comply with the rules will be printed and the poems sent by post will be copied, then they will be given a number to tally with our records and the whole pile will be given to Matthew soon after the closing date. It is entirely up to Matthew which poems he choses to win the prizes.
The rules – well yes, we’ve kept them to a minimum, but poems that exceed the stated length or poems with the poets name on will be disqualified.
There are First (£250) Second (£50) and Local (£25) prizes up for grabs. Worth a go?
